Narrative:
Report written due to lack of situational awareness by approach control causing us to be given multiple clearances at the last minute. We were filed on the seavu arrival to lax by dispatch. Runway 25L was to be closed per NOTAM at XA00Z. Our arrival to lax showed a land time of approximately XA07Z. We loaded seavu one with a runway 25R transition per the NOTAM closure. Because of a history of last minute changes on this and civet arrivals we also loaded the seavu one runway 24R transition in route two. Approach control gave us a clearance for the seavu runway 25L transition at the last minute as they usually do. Runway 25L transition was then reloaded into route one. One minute after loading runway 25L we were then cleared the runway 24R transition due to the time and impending closure of runway 25L. As PNF; I was heads down more than was necessary for a known runway closure. We did our best to catch up; load transition after transition; meet altitude restrictions and fly a safe aircraft. Had we not pre-loaded runway 24R and briefed as we did who knows what would have happened. Bottom line: we did everything possible to avoid a known problem with this approach facility as it relates to arrivals from the east. Despite our best efforts we were still put in a box and had to work our way out.

Title: A B757 PILOT REPORTS MULTIPLE RWY CHANGES ON THE LAX SEAVU ONE ARRIVAL.
Narrative: REPORT WRITTEN DUE TO LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS BY APPROACH CONTROL CAUSING US TO BE GIVEN MULTIPLE CLEARANCES AT THE LAST MINUTE. WE WERE FILED ON THE SEAVU ARRIVAL TO LAX BY DISPATCH. RWY 25L WAS TO BE CLOSED PER NOTAM AT XA00Z. OUR ARRIVAL TO LAX SHOWED A LAND TIME OF APPROX XA07Z. WE LOADED SEAVU ONE WITH A RWY 25R TRANSITION PER THE NOTAM CLOSURE. BECAUSE OF A HISTORY OF LAST MINUTE CHANGES ON THIS AND CIVET ARRIVALS WE ALSO LOADED THE SEAVU ONE RWY 24R TRANSITION IN ROUTE TWO. APPROACH CONTROL GAVE US A CLEARANCE FOR THE SEAVU RWY 25L TRANSITION AT THE LAST MINUTE AS THEY USUALLY DO. RWY 25L TRANSITION WAS THEN RELOADED INTO ROUTE ONE. ONE MINUTE AFTER LOADING RWY 25L WE WERE THEN CLEARED THE RWY 24R TRANSITION DUE TO THE TIME AND IMPENDING CLOSURE OF RWY 25L. AS PNF; I WAS HEADS DOWN MORE THAN WAS NECESSARY FOR A KNOWN RUNWAY CLOSURE. WE DID OUR BEST TO CATCH UP; LOAD TRANSITION AFTER TRANSITION; MEET ALTITUDE RESTRICTIONS AND FLY A SAFE AIRCRAFT. HAD WE NOT PRE-LOADED RWY 24R AND BRIEFED AS WE DID WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
