Narrative:
While on a visual approach to sea runway 16L; we encountered a wake from the aircraft landing on runway 16C. With another aircraft landing on runway 16C on our right; we were forced to deviate to the left of the runway 16L localizer and fly through a cloud. We lost sight of the aircraft that we were supposed to follow momentarily. No other irregularities occurred. It was very busy in sea and we accepted a visual approach when conditions may not have been warranted. We were the second of several aircraft that accepted a visual approach during a short period. Although it was against the rules; I made the decision to go IMC in the interest of safety. By the time I had the chance to tell ATC; we were VMC again.
