Narrative:

On takeoff we received an 'engine 2 a-ice duct' level 3 alert at 1000 ft AGL. After aircraft clean up accomplished appropriate checklist which called for the shutdown of the #2 engine. We declared an emergency with departure and informed them of our need to dump fuel (approximately 80000 pounds) to arrive at our maximum landing weight of 491500 pounds. After dump accomplished we returned to ZZZZ and accomplished an ILS approach to a successful landing.

Title: AN MD11 FLT CREW RECEIVED AN EICAS ALERT 'ENG 2 ANTI-ICE DUCT.' THEY FOLLOWED THE CHECKLIST TO SECURE THE ENGINE; DECLARED AN EMERGENCY; AND RETURNED TO DEPARTURE AIRPORT.
