Narrative:
While flying on a heading of northeast (approximately 060 degrees magnetic) to the medical center helicopter landing pads; a beechcraft bonanza was flying on a converging course and sighted by me from my aircraft at about 4 O'clock low position and about a combined distance of 600 ft. The rate of convergence was so quick that there was no time to take action as the bonanza passed below me within 300 ft and appeared again on the left side probably flying toward ZZZ. The bonanza was likely on a heading of northwest to north. I was not on a flight plan; but was listening to the nearest control tower. The other aircraft may have been tuned to another frequency. I was in on the medical xfer leg of a critically ill patient and was going to be entering the controled airspace of ZZZ so I had no time to verify the identity of the other aircraft. I believe the other aircraft was probably flying at an MSL altitude of about 1500 ft.

Title: AN A109 HELI PLT; FLYING VFR; EXPERIENCES NMAC WITH ANOTHER AIRCRAFT.
Narrative: WHILE FLYING ON A HDG OF NE (APPROX 060 DEGS MAGNETIC) TO THE MEDICAL CTR HELI LNDG PADS; A BEECHCRAFT BONANZA WAS FLYING ON A CONVERGING COURSE AND SIGHTED BY ME FROM MY ACFT AT ABOUT 4 O'CLOCK LOW POS AND ABOUT A COMBINED DISTANCE OF 600 FT. THE RATE OF CONVERGENCE WAS SO QUICK THAT THERE WAS NO TIME TO TAKE ACTION AS THE BONANZA PASSED BELOW ME WITHIN 300 FT AND APPEARED AGAIN ON THE L SIDE PROBABLY FLYING TOWARD ZZZ. THE BONANZA WAS LIKELY ON A HDG OF NW TO N. I WAS NOT ON A FLT PLAN; BUT WAS LISTENING TO THE NEAREST CTL TWR. THE OTHER ACFT MAY HAVE BEEN TUNED TO ANOTHER FREQ. I WAS IN ON THE MEDICAL XFER LEG OF A CRITICALLY ILL PATIENT AND WAS GOING TO BE ENTERING THE CTLED AIRSPACE OF ZZZ SO I HAD NO TIME TO VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF THE OTHER ACFT. I BELIEVE THE OTHER ACFT WAS PROBABLY FLYING AT AN MSL ALT OF ABOUT 1500 FT.
