Narrative:
Aircraft arrived in ZZZ1 with the nose gear spray deflector missing and on cdl (confign deviation list). Prior to arrival; it started raining in ZZZ1; which prevented the aircraft from leaving without a spray deflector (according to cdl). I borrowed a spray deflector from a spare aircraft and installed it on aircraft; so the trip could leave close to on time. When the replacement spray deflector arrived for me to install on the spare aircraft; I noticed that I had left the inboard bushings on the spare aircraft; and that aircraft did not have the inboard bushings installed. I then found out where the aircraft was going to overnight at ZZZ2 and called maintenance in ZZZ2 to let them know what had happened; and that I was aog the bushings to them; so they could be installed on aircraft on overnight.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN MD80 ACFT DEPARTED AFTER NLG SPRAY DEFLECTOR WAS REPLACED WITHOUT INSTALLING THE INBOARD BUSHINGS. MISSING BUSHINGS REPLACED BY MAINT ON DOWNLINE OVERNIGHT VISIT.
Narrative: ACFT ARRIVED IN ZZZ1 WITH THE NOSE GEAR SPRAY DEFLECTOR MISSING AND ON CDL (CONFIGN DEV LIST). PRIOR TO ARR; IT STARTED RAINING IN ZZZ1; WHICH PREVENTED THE ACFT FROM LEAVING WITHOUT A SPRAY DEFLECTOR (ACCORDING TO CDL). I BORROWED A SPRAY DEFLECTOR FROM A SPARE ACFT AND INSTALLED IT ON ACFT; SO THE TRIP COULD LEAVE CLOSE TO ON TIME. WHEN THE REPLACEMENT SPRAY DEFLECTOR ARRIVED FOR ME TO INSTALL ON THE SPARE ACFT; I NOTICED THAT I HAD LEFT THE INBOARD BUSHINGS ON THE SPARE ACFT; AND THAT ACFT DID NOT HAVE THE INBOARD BUSHINGS INSTALLED. I THEN FOUND OUT WHERE THE ACFT WAS GOING TO OVERNIGHT AT ZZZ2 AND CALLED MAINT IN ZZZ2 TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED; AND THAT I WAS AOG THE BUSHINGS TO THEM; SO THEY COULD BE INSTALLED ON ACFT ON OVERNIGHT.
