Narrative:
In aug/xa/07 I was working on aircraft X on a work card consisting of interior check items. On that date I wrote numerous non routine items on the work card and on aug/xa/07 I was told that the aircraft was moving to the gate due to aircraft swap and was told to forget the items I wrote and that the check was going to be deferred for that day so it does not show in the workload for the day. So having previously fixed some items and now not showing any documentation to show what I fixed; I feel I should submit this report. There were several open items that were not properly deferred and I was told by management that the items would be deferred that were safety of flight items and the rest of the check would be deferred as if the check was never accomplished. Supplemental information from acn 753780: I was assigned to work the interior check card on aircraft X. I completed the inspection and worked on all the items. Supervisor came and told us that they need the aircraft for early departure. They told us that the interior check will be deferred the next night. All my write-up items were completed. There were other open items that were not complete by other mechanic that need to be defer. Supervisor said that they will take care of the deferrals. Found out later that some open items were not deferred. Supplemental information from acn 753777: we completed a card. We issued many write-up items that were not completed and some were placard items. We were told by management that the work card was to be voided and some items were to be entered on the MEL log for future work; but the card and most of the items were voided. Supplemental information from acn 753779: accomplished interior checks on said date. Plane's departure time was moved up without prior notification. Supervisor made suggestion to other interior check mechanic to void items. Written up items were supposed to be deferred by the terminal. Found out later ZZZ cleared the items. Callback conversation with reporter acn 753778 revealed the following information: reporter stated that after being told to forget the work they had already accomplished because the check was going to be deferred; he and other mechanics were concerned about the safety of flight items still opened; especially the cabin passenger seats. Following-up on the aircraft status; they noted that items that should have been deferred were not. Reporter also stated most of the cabin paper write-ups originally generated by his crew during the interior check have disappeared and were never entered into the maintenance record.

Title: B757-200 ACFT MECHANICS WORKING JOB CARD FOR CABIN INTERIOR CHECK ITEMS AND WRITE-UPS WERE TOLD TO IGNORE THE WORK ACCOMPLISHED BECAUSE THE CHECK WAS GOING TO BE DEFERRED FOR THAT DAY.
Narrative: IN AUG/XA/07 I WAS WORKING ON ACFT X ON A WORK CARD CONSISTING OF INTERIOR CHK ITEMS. ON THAT DATE I WROTE NUMEROUS NON ROUTINE ITEMS ON THE WORK CARD AND ON AUG/XA/07 I WAS TOLD THAT THE ACFT WAS MOVING TO THE GATE DUE TO ACFT SWAP AND WAS TOLD TO FORGET THE ITEMS I WROTE AND THAT THE CHK WAS GOING TO BE DEFERRED FOR THAT DAY SO IT DOES NOT SHOW IN THE WORKLOAD FOR THE DAY. SO HAVING PREVIOUSLY FIXED SOME ITEMS AND NOW NOT SHOWING ANY DOCUMENTATION TO SHOW WHAT I FIXED; I FEEL I SHOULD SUBMIT THIS RPT. THERE WERE SEVERAL OPEN ITEMS THAT WERE NOT PROPERLY DEFERRED AND I WAS TOLD BY MGMNT THAT THE ITEMS WOULD BE DEFERRED THAT WERE SAFETY OF FLT ITEMS AND THE REST OF THE CHK WOULD BE DEFERRED AS IF THE CHK WAS NEVER ACCOMPLISHED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 753780: I WAS ASSIGNED TO WORK THE INTERIOR CHK CARD ON ACFT X. I COMPLETED THE INSPECTION AND WORKED ON ALL THE ITEMS. SUPVR CAME AND TOLD US THAT THEY NEED THE ACFT FOR EARLY DEP. THEY TOLD US THAT THE INTERIOR CHK WILL BE DEFERRED THE NEXT NIGHT. ALL MY WRITE-UP ITEMS WERE COMPLETED. THERE WERE OTHER OPEN ITEMS THAT WERE NOT COMPLETE BY OTHER MECH THAT NEED TO BE DEFER. SUPVR SAID THAT THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE DEFERRALS. FOUND OUT LATER THAT SOME OPEN ITEMS WERE NOT DEFERRED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 753777: WE COMPLETED A CARD. WE ISSUED MANY WRITE-UP ITEMS THAT WERE NOT COMPLETED AND SOME WERE PLACARD ITEMS. WE WERE TOLD BY MGMNT THAT THE WORK CARD WAS TO BE VOIDED AND SOME ITEMS WERE TO BE ENTERED ON THE MEL LOG FOR FUTURE WORK; BUT THE CARD AND MOST OF THE ITEMS WERE VOIDED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 753779: ACCOMPLISHED INTERIOR CHKS ON SAID DATE. PLANE'S DEP TIME WAS MOVED UP WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION. SUPVR MADE SUGGESTION TO OTHER INTERIOR CHK MECH TO VOID ITEMS. WRITTEN UP ITEMS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DEFERRED BY THE TERMINAL. FOUND OUT LATER ZZZ CLRED THE ITEMS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 753778 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THAT AFTER BEING TOLD TO FORGET THE WORK THEY HAD ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED BECAUSE THE CHECK WAS GOING TO BE DEFERRED; HE AND OTHER MECHANICS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF FLIGHT ITEMS STILL OPENED; ESPECIALLY THE CABIN PASSENGER SEATS. FOLLOWING-UP ON THE ACFT STATUS; THEY NOTED THAT ITEMS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEFERRED WERE NOT. REPORTER ALSO STATED MOST OF THE CABIN PAPER WRITE-UPS ORIGINALLY GENERATED BY HIS CREW DURING THE INTERIOR CHECK HAVE DISAPPEARED AND WERE NEVER ENTERED INTO THE MAINT RECORD.
