Narrative:
Worked B757 'B' check 9/xa/07. Assigned the exterior with 2 other mechanics. I had 5 work cards and helped with the left overwing slide removal and replacement. I reviewed the maintenance manual before starting the job and complied with the work card that was assigned to the task. Supplemental information from acn 753804: I was given the job of a 24 hour rii of an overwing slide change. I felt the job was done properly; but I was not familiar with this type of installation. Callback conversation with reporter acn 753803 revealed the following information: reporter stated the left overwing slide did exit the aircraft after the slide door opened during takeoff climb. He did not know if the deployed slide had initiated actual slide inflation as it exited the door shelf.
