Narrative:
Socal switched us from runway 25L to runway 24R. We unintentionally missed turn to right prior to having the arrival to runway 24R loaded. We corrected back to new arrival.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated he had flown into lax previously and was aware of the problems with runway changes. He operates several different aircraft types with different fmcs; and this makes quick reactions to clearance changes difficult.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FALCON 900 CAPT RPTS DIFFICULTIES TRANSITIONING TO RWY 24R FROM RWY 25L AT LAX; AFTER CLRNC CHANGE BY SCT.
Narrative: SOCAL SWITCHED US FROM RWY 25L TO RWY 24R. WE UNINTENTIONALLY MISSED TURN TO R PRIOR TO HAVING THE ARR TO RWY 24R LOADED. WE CORRECTED BACK TO NEW ARR.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED HE HAD FLOWN INTO LAX PREVIOUSLY AND WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH RWY CHANGES. HE OPERATES SEVERAL DIFFERENT ACFT TYPES WITH DIFFERENT FMCS; AND THIS MAKES QUICK REACTIONS TO CLRNC CHANGES DIFFICULT.
