Narrative:
Our takeoff was aborted at low speed due to a compressor stall of the right engine. Both engines were started for taxi due to the fairly heavy takeoff weight. Both engines ran for over 5 mins prior to takeoff and all indications were normal. Winds were light. Throttles were advanced to 1.10 EPR then toward reduced takeoff thrust. A loud banging noise was heard just prior to reaching takeoff thrust. Indicated airspeed was just moving off the peg. Tower reported fire visible from the right engine. Takeoff was immediately aborted at which time tower reported fire no longer visible. There was no fire alarm in the cockpit or abnormal indications. The order to remain seated was given before the airplane was stopped to prevent an unnecessary evacuate/evacuation and fire equipment requested. Although there was no evidence of fire; we thought it appropriate to run the qrc for fire/severe damage/separation as a precaution. The aircraft was inspected by crash fire rescue equipment then towed back to the gate. Predep briefing procedures proved very helpful in managing this event and established the crew concept necessary for a successful outcome.

Title: B767-300 RIGHT ENG COMPRESSOR STALLED ON INITIAL TKOF ROLL. TKOF WAS ABORTED AND THE ACFT INSPECTED.
Narrative: OUR TKOF WAS ABORTED AT LOW SPD DUE TO A COMPRESSOR STALL OF THE R ENG. BOTH ENGS WERE STARTED FOR TAXI DUE TO THE FAIRLY HVY TKOF WT. BOTH ENGS RAN FOR OVER 5 MINS PRIOR TO TKOF AND ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. WINDS WERE LIGHT. THROTTLES WERE ADVANCED TO 1.10 EPR THEN TOWARD REDUCED TKOF THRUST. A LOUD BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD JUST PRIOR TO REACHING TKOF THRUST. INDICATED AIRSPD WAS JUST MOVING OFF THE PEG. TWR RPTED FIRE VISIBLE FROM THE R ENG. TKOF WAS IMMEDIATELY ABORTED AT WHICH TIME TWR RPTED FIRE NO LONGER VISIBLE. THERE WAS NO FIRE ALARM IN THE COCKPIT OR ABNORMAL INDICATIONS.
