Narrative:

Wake encounter behind A320 3 miles ahead on departure. At 800 to 1000 ft AGL (accell altitude and flap retraction) we encountered the wake of an A320. The encounter was controllable; but distracting and we delayed flap retraction until out of wake encounter. Encounter lasted 5 seconds with a roll right of no more than 5 degrees of bank after 1/4 side stick left input. I reported the light wake encounter to phx tower (ATC) after the encounter. We were handed off to departure.
