Narrative:
Despite numerous complaints to management; during arrs; for some reason our radar will generate a split tag on some aircraft on a 3-2 mi final. This triggers our conflict alert warning us of another aircraft in close proximity. It is alerting on a single aircraft. This 'crying wolf' situation creates a false impression of tuning out the ca's because it is so often a false alarm.
