Narrative:
Ground sensing switch faulted and aircraft thought it was on the ground. Flaps were up and power was at cruise so we got a very loud; non silenceable confign warning. We could not communicate with center or with each other. First officer was flying autoplt engaged. Many warnings came up on EICAS screen one of which was an RA indicating we should descend. Since we could not communicate with center because of the alarm we descended approximately 1300 ft to honor the RA. After I found the circuit breakers for the speakers we talked to center and informed them that we had received an RA and the controller said there was no aircraft in our vicinity and we immediately climbed back to FL370. Aircraft was removed from flight status for repairs.
