Narrative:
Descending on civet five arrival; for runway 24R. Just prior to rustt intersection socal approach changes our runway to runway 25L to descend on civet five arrival. Captain is flying. I change arrs; socal tells us to slow to 280 KTS. As I am cleaning up arrival socal tells us to slow to 250 KTS. The captain is now high on descent profile. Captain selects flight level change. We have some route discontinuity that I am trying to close up. As I get the route closed up; and am now back heads up; approximately 2 1/2 mi from taroc captain realizes he is below 9000 ft and stops descent at 8600 ft. I read altitudes off chart to captain. We regained descent profile in VNAV mode. WX was VFR; day; no mention of being low on profile from socal approach. There was no conflict with any traffic. Last min runway change and speed changes created havoc momentarily. Once runway is assigned it would be better if we stayed on that arrival transition.

Title: A B757 ON THE LAX CIVET PRIOR TO RUSTT INTXN WAS CHANGED FROM 24R TO 25L. CAPT DSNDED LOW ON PROFILE AS FO WORKED FMS FOR NEW APCH.
Narrative: DSNDING ON CIVET FIVE ARR; FOR RWY 24R. JUST PRIOR TO RUSTT INTXN SOCAL APCH CHANGES OUR RWY TO RWY 25L TO DSND ON CIVET FIVE ARR. CAPT IS FLYING. I CHANGE ARRS; SOCAL TELLS US TO SLOW TO 280 KTS. AS I AM CLEANING UP ARR SOCAL TELLS US TO SLOW TO 250 KTS. THE CAPT IS NOW HIGH ON DSCNT PROFILE. CAPT SELECTS FLT LEVEL CHANGE. WE HAVE SOME RTE DISCONTINUITY THAT I AM TRYING TO CLOSE UP. AS I GET THE RTE CLOSED UP; AND AM NOW BACK HEADS UP; APPROX 2 1/2 MI FROM TAROC CAPT REALIZES HE IS BELOW 9000 FT AND STOPS DSCNT AT 8600 FT. I READ ALTS OFF CHART TO CAPT. WE REGAINED DSCNT PROFILE IN VNAV MODE. WX WAS VFR; DAY; NO MENTION OF BEING LOW ON PROFILE FROM SOCAL APCH. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT WITH ANY TFC. LAST MIN RWY CHANGE AND SPD CHANGES CREATED HAVOC MOMENTARILY. ONCE RWY IS ASSIGNED IT WOULD BE BETTER IF WE STAYED ON THAT ARR TRANSITION.
