Narrative:
Springfield approach control sgf frequency 121.0 is unusable southeast of the sgf airport reported by numerous aircraft. Occurrence listed above is most recent; aircraft was 35 mi from sgf at 6000 ft MSL 4500 ft AGL and could not reach us. Aircraft was issued our other frequency by ZME and established communication on 124.95. Problem also occurs at 16000 ft; 40 mi southeast of the sgf airport with CRJ1 and B727 air carrier's; they come in very weak and eventually can communicate with us. Main and standby transmitters and receivers are tried; no difference. I will begin logging each event for your tracking. I have worked this position here for 10 yrs problem seems to have started 6 months ago and slowly getting worse. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter expressed frustration that this has been going on for some time. He has not recently reported the frequency anomaly to his supervisor or airways facilities (af). But it seems not much was done when he previously reported the problem because the response he got was that it appears intermittent and there is nothing that can be done.

Narrative: SPRINGFIELD APCH CTL SGF FREQ 121.0 IS UNUSABLE SE OF THE SGF ARPT RPTED BY NUMEROUS ACFT. OCCURRENCE LISTED ABOVE IS MOST RECENT; ACFT WAS 35 MI FROM SGF AT 6000 FT MSL 4500 FT AGL AND COULD NOT REACH US. ACFT WAS ISSUED OUR OTHER FREQ BY ZME AND ESTABLISHED COM ON 124.95. PROB ALSO OCCURS AT 16000 FT; 40 MI SE OF THE SGF ARPT WITH CRJ1 AND B727 ACR'S; THEY COME IN VERY WEAK AND EVENTUALLY CAN COMMUNICATE WITH US. MAIN AND STANDBY XMITTERS AND RECEIVERS ARE TRIED; NO DIFFERENCE. I WILL BEGIN LOGGING EACH EVENT FOR YOUR TRACKING. I HAVE WORKED THIS POS HERE FOR 10 YRS PROB SEEMS TO HAVE STARTED 6 MONTHS AGO AND SLOWLY GETTING WORSE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE REPORTER EXPRESSED FRUSTRATION THAT THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME.
