Narrative:
Descent into sea given heading to bypass olm and fourt and descent to 10000 ft MSL. Passing 12000 ft MSL in steep descent at 320 KIAS approaching fourt; sea approach announced runway 16C closing; expect ILS runway 16L. I went heads down to get out runway 16L ILS approach plates and neglected to mind the store; and as we passed about 11000 ft MSL we had an overspd disconnect and I looked up to see the airspeed approaching 340 KIAS limit. I disconnected autoplt and autothrottles began a leveloff to control the airspeed; but the airspeed reached 348 KIAS and was in an overspd condition above 340 KIAS for about 5 seconds. It was my fault. I should have xferred control to the first officer while I got my approach plate out. I observed him changing the approach in the FMC; and rather than wait for him to finish; I went ahead and went heads down to get my plate out; and stopped paying attention to the airplane. Inadvertent 8 KIAS overspd for 5 seconds (348 KIAS at 11000 ft MSL.)

Title: ACR FLT CREW REPORTS OVERSPD DURING DESCENT INTO SEA WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SET UP RWY CHANGE.
Narrative: DSCNT INTO SEA GIVEN HDG TO BYPASS OLM AND FOURT AND DSCNT TO 10000 FT MSL. PASSING 12000 FT MSL IN STEEP DSCNT AT 320 KIAS APCHING FOURT; SEA APCH ANNOUNCED RWY 16C CLOSING; EXPECT ILS RWY 16L. I WENT HEADS DOWN TO GET OUT RWY 16L ILS APCH PLATES AND NEGLECTED TO MIND THE STORE; AND AS WE PASSED ABOUT 11000 FT MSL WE HAD AN OVERSPD DISCONNECT AND I LOOKED UP TO SEE THE AIRSPD APCHING 340 KIAS LIMIT. I DISCONNECTED AUTOPLT AND AUTOTHROTTLES BEGAN A LEVELOFF TO CTL THE AIRSPD; BUT THE AIRSPD REACHED 348 KIAS AND WAS IN AN OVERSPD CONDITION ABOVE 340 KIAS FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. IT WAS MY FAULT. I SHOULD HAVE XFERRED CTL TO THE FO WHILE I GOT MY APCH PLATE OUT. I OBSERVED HIM CHANGING THE APCH IN THE FMC; AND RATHER THAN WAIT FOR HIM TO FINISH; I WENT AHEAD AND WENT HEADS DOWN TO GET MY PLATE OUT; AND STOPPED PAYING ATTN TO THE AIRPLANE. INADVERTENT 8 KIAS OVERSPD FOR 5 SECONDS (348 KIAS AT 11000 FT MSL.)
