Narrative:
Day 3 of a 4-DAY trip. Had flown an all-nighter that morning. Laid over during day (13 hours scheduled). Did not sleep well. Flew night departure into atl. I was now taxiing out for departure from atl. Very tired. Watched an rj take off on runway 27R and was given clearance to taxi into position and hold runway 27R. I was very tired; repeated instruction to first officer; just as green taxi lights appeared leading to runway. Lights were line of sight with where rj had taken off; so I just turned to follow guidance onto runway. As I was straightening out aircraft nosewheel; tower cleared us for takeoff. As I added power; tower said after a pause; 'from M-20.' (taxiway intersection to runway 27R.) that was my first awareness I had not taxied full length. At that point; it was safer to continue; so the takeoff was not aborted. Fatigue was definitely a factor; which led to loss of situational awareness. Supplemental information from acn 766620: the first officer was heads down completing before takeoff checklist when this happened.

Title: B757 INITIATED TKOF ROLL FROM INTERSECTION; NOT UTILIZING FULL LENGTH; AS INTENDED.
Narrative: DAY 3 OF A 4-DAY TRIP. HAD FLOWN AN ALL-NIGHTER THAT MORNING. LAID OVER DURING DAY (13 HRS SCHEDULED). DID NOT SLEEP WELL. FLEW NIGHT DEP INTO ATL. I WAS NOW TAXIING OUT FOR DEP FROM ATL. VERY TIRED. WATCHED AN RJ TAKE OFF ON RWY 27R AND WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD RWY 27R. I WAS VERY TIRED; REPEATED INSTRUCTION TO FO; JUST AS GREEN TAXI LIGHTS APPEARED LEADING TO RWY. LIGHTS WERE LINE OF SIGHT WITH WHERE RJ HAD TAKEN OFF; SO I JUST TURNED TO FOLLOW GUIDANCE ONTO RWY. AS I WAS STRAIGHTENING OUT ACFT NOSEWHEEL; TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF. AS I ADDED PWR; TWR SAID AFTER A PAUSE; 'FROM M-20.' (TXWY INTXN TO RWY 27R.) THAT WAS MY FIRST AWARENESS I HAD NOT TAXIED FULL LENGTH. AT THAT POINT; IT WAS SAFER TO CONTINUE; SO THE TKOF WAS NOT ABORTED. FATIGUE WAS DEFINITELY A FACTOR; WHICH LED TO LOSS OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 766620: THE FO WAS HEADS DOWN COMPLETING BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
