Narrative:

As flying first officer was coming back into cockpit; the purser asked me to go to business and smell the air. It smelled like hot electrical wires. As I was going back to the cockpit; a flight attendant came up and said seat xx was smoking a little bit. I told the captain and he secured the cabin electrics. I went back and saw that the seat control panel had a small melted area with smoke. I went back to the cockpit while the flight attendant sprayed halon on the control panel. Ran the appropriate checklists; and contacted dispatch and maintenance. The flight attendants reported the fire contained and we made a normal approach with equipment standing by. After landing; we taxied to the gate where fire and maintenance were waiting.
