Narrative:
After getting a good 1.4 EPR check on both engines during the takeoff roll; the left engine would not advance any further than 1.8 EPR when 2.02 was called for; even with the throttle full forward. I initiated an abort at about 90 KTS. Speed did not exceed 100 KTS; and moderate manual braking was used (no autobrakes installed). Brake temperature never went above 100 degrees.

Title: AN MD80 REJECTED A TKOF AT ABOUT 90 KTS AFTER THE L ENG WOULD NOT DEVELOP FULL TKOF POWER.
Narrative: AFTER GETTING A GOOD 1.4 EPR CHK ON BOTH ENGS DURING THE TKOF ROLL; THE L ENG WOULD NOT ADVANCE ANY FURTHER THAN 1.8 EPR WHEN 2.02 WAS CALLED FOR; EVEN WITH THE THROTTLE FULL FORWARD. I INITIATED AN ABORT AT ABOUT 90 KTS. SPD DID NOT EXCEED 100 KTS; AND MODERATE MANUAL BRAKING WAS USED (NO AUTOBRAKES INSTALLED). BRAKE TEMP NEVER WENT ABOVE 100 DEGS.
