Narrative:

On descent in bdl we decided to check the field condition report via ACARS since we were not familiar with recent WX activity in the area. The field condition report we received via ACARS -- just over 2 hours old (there is no date included that I could determine). The conditions were described as taxiway: wet-good; covered with thin loose snow; windshear advisories in effect; braking action: good. The runways were described similarly. Upon landing; we observed that all surfaces were dry and that there was no evidence of snow at all; other than some small leftover mounds from previous plowing. I queried ground control about the field condition report and they indicated that the report that bdl was broadcasting was last updated 7 hours earlier and showed all surfaces dry and clear. Another company aircraft overheard my discussion with ground control and stated that they had received the same erroneous field condition report that we had. This sequence of events has occurred several times for me in the past few months and different airports. The erroneous data is beginning to undermine the credibility of the field condition reporting system. Ensure that the ACARS is delivering the most current field condition report.

Title: MLG FO REPORTS PROBLEMS WITH FIELD CONDITION REPORTS ISSUED BY HIS COMPANY.

Narrative: ON DSCNT IN BDL WE DECIDED TO CHK THE FIELD CONDITION RPT VIA ACARS SINCE WE WERE NOT FAMILIAR WITH RECENT WX ACTIVITY IN THE AREA. THE FIELD CONDITION RPT WE RECEIVED VIA ACARS -- JUST OVER 2 HRS OLD (THERE IS NO DATE INCLUDED THAT I COULD DETERMINE). THE CONDITIONS WERE DESCRIBED AS TXWY: WET-GOOD; COVERED WITH THIN LOOSE SNOW; WINDSHEAR ADVISORIES IN EFFECT; BRAKING ACTION: GOOD. THE RWYS WERE DESCRIBED SIMILARLY. UPON LNDG; WE OBSERVED THAT ALL SURFACES WERE DRY AND THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF SNOW AT ALL; OTHER THAN SOME SMALL LEFTOVER MOUNDS FROM PREVIOUS PLOWING. I QUERIED GND CTL ABOUT THE FIELD CONDITION RPT AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE RPT THAT BDL WAS BROADCASTING WAS LAST UPDATED 7 HRS EARLIER AND SHOWED ALL SURFACES DRY AND CLR. ANOTHER COMPANY ACFT OVERHEARD MY DISCUSSION WITH GND CTL AND STATED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED THE SAME ERRONEOUS FIELD CONDITION RPT THAT WE HAD. THIS SEQUENCE OF EVENTS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES FOR ME IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND DIFFERENT ARPTS. THE ERRONEOUS DATA IS BEGINNING TO UNDERMINE THE CREDIBILITY OF THE FIELD CONDITION RPTING SYS. ENSURE THAT THE ACARS IS DELIVERING THE MOST CURRENT FIELD CONDITION RPT.
