Narrative:

We had departed ZZZ on our way to ZZZZ. While cruising at 11000 ft and just about to start our descent into ZZZZ; we received a right bleed air leak light. We idented and canceled the light and ran the QRH for bleed air leak. It did not correct the problem; and the light remained illuminated. The QRH then directed us to shut the engine down and we proceeded with the engine shutdown checklist. At that time we determined the nearest suitable airport was still ZZZZ. After we secured the engine; we declared an emergency with center; told them we were still going to land at ZZZZ; asked for vectors for xx at ZZZZ; told them souls and fuel on board; and got updated WX at that time. The first officer briefed the flight attendant to prepare the cabin. When he got back on communication #1; I xferred controls to him and I notified dispatch of our situation and intentions. I then briefed the passenger on what was going on and what to expect. When I came back to communication #1; I took the controls back and we confirmed we had everything completed and were ready for the approach and then briefed what to expect on landing. We then got the airport visually and landed without incident.

Title: AN SF340 BLEED AIR LEAK LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN FLT. THE QRH PROCEDURES DIRECTED AN ENG SHUTDOWN; AN EMER DECLARATION; AND AN ACFT LANDING AT A NEARBY ARPT.

Narrative: WE HAD DEPARTED ZZZ ON OUR WAY TO ZZZZ. WHILE CRUISING AT 11000 FT AND JUST ABOUT TO START OUR DSCNT INTO ZZZZ; WE RECEIVED A R BLEED AIR LEAK LIGHT. WE IDENTED AND CANCELED THE LIGHT AND RAN THE QRH FOR BLEED AIR LEAK. IT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROB; AND THE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE QRH THEN DIRECTED US TO SHUT THE ENG DOWN AND WE PROCEEDED WITH THE ENG SHUTDOWN CHKLIST. AT THAT TIME WE DETERMINED THE NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT WAS STILL ZZZZ. AFTER WE SECURED THE ENG; WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH CTR; TOLD THEM WE WERE STILL GOING TO LAND AT ZZZZ; ASKED FOR VECTORS FOR XX AT ZZZZ; TOLD THEM SOULS AND FUEL ON BOARD; AND GOT UPDATED WX AT THAT TIME. THE FO BRIEFED THE FLT ATTENDANT TO PREPARE THE CABIN. WHEN HE GOT BACK ON COM #1; I XFERRED CTLS TO HIM AND I NOTIFIED DISPATCH OF OUR SITUATION AND INTENTIONS. I THEN BRIEFED THE PAX ON WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHAT TO EXPECT. WHEN I CAME BACK TO COM #1; I TOOK THE CTLS BACK AND WE CONFIRMED WE HAD EVERYTHING COMPLETED AND WERE READY FOR THE APCH AND THEN BRIEFED WHAT TO EXPECT ON LNDG. WE THEN GOT THE ARPT VISUALLY AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
