Narrative:
During my shift; performed a grease leak inspection on #2 propeller. After servicing the propeller hub with oil; I installed the hub bolt in accordance with the maintenance manual. After tightening the hub bolt and removing tools from the propeller; the 5/16 inch allen head socket must have stuck inside the head of the bolt. Rattling noise was discovered at ZZZ1 gate. Mechanic removed spinner and discovered the tool inside. Organized tools better to be better aware of where tools are at all times. Didn't check for all tools after finishing the task. Did not verify area around the propeller was clear. Tools are better organized and inventoried after each task and before plane is dispatched. Doublechk surroundings after tasks are completed for tools or FOD.
