Narrative:
VFR flight to ZZZ. After making contact with approach on the return leg they asked me to phone the tower after I landed. I called them after I landed and they informed me that I overflew a controled firing area. I did not pull NOTAMS for mko for this flight because I was not planning to land there. The cfa was listed under the d-notams for mko. I reviewed the NOTAMS for mko after I arrived back to base; and I called FSS to check on the status of this NOTAM. Initially the FSS briefer did not have any NOTAMS for the vicinity of mko; but then called me back later to give me the details of this NOTAM. This NOTAM was listed with FSS as an 'other' NOTAM and the briefer said he missed it the first time. I have advised other pilots at the base of the location for getting NOTAMS for this cfa.
