Narrative:
Taxiway a was notamed closed between taxiway D and runway 3/21 and taxiway a between taxiway C. There is a runway closure 'X' symbol light used to indicate that the taxiway is closed. This light is used at a very bright setting and shines right into the aircraft on final approach into hilo runway 8. The light parallels the runway. The bright light flashing is creating a safety hazard. My main concern is safety. I have talked to the dispatcher on duty; hilo tower; hcf. I also called the local FSDO. I feel this problem needs to be corrected right away. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the problem has been corrected and no further action is required.
