Narrative:
I installed aircraft position/strobe light assembly on the right side and used the l-hand side assembly by mistake. Reference in accordance with amm. Factors: 1) pressure to get the plane out on time. 2) part numbers near identical and part appearance is identical. 3) pat locations were swapped I the stock room resulting in the wrong part pulled from correct location. 4) part number identify from manufacturer is etched in and not legible. R-hand side assembly part #XXX-2. This is the part installed. L-hand side assembly part #XXX-6. This is the correct part number not installed.
