Narrative:
At FL340 in cruise conditions; we received an ECAM for total loss of yellow system hydraulics. After complying with the ECAM and completing items in the checklist; we decided to land short of ZZZ1 (our original destination). We did not declare an emergency. I did not feel it was worth the risks to fly all the way across the country and mountains with one of the hydraulic system out; full maintenance available and VFR conditions in ZZZ. We ran the overweight landing checklist for a landing at 152000 pounds. After an uneventful landing; we used reverse idle to slow because the right reverser was inoperative and taxied clear of runway xx; the longest runway available. I had outstanding assistance from my first officer and the cabin crew. Maintenance later found a line break near the #2 engine.
