Narrative:
The MEA's on numerous airways off of the mss VOR were recently increased due to a failed flight check. An 8 X 10 sheet of paper was left at sector 8 in area a at ZBW with the information. I found this paper behind the console and out of controller view. Area B; who is also affected; did not have any information on the change. About 30 mins later. Ms X came to the area to ask if I was aware of the changes. I told her about the paper but suggested that something this important that affects our day-to-day operations should be properly briefed. Ms X agreed. In the meantime; flm mr Y came over to say it is my responsibility to brief myself on the status information area. I reiterated the point that the form was out of view and that something so important should be briefed to the controllers. Flm mr Y disagreed and said that is not how things are done. In my opinion; this oversight could have caused an unsafe situation.

MS X AGREED. IN THE MEANTIME; FLM MR Y CAME OVER TO SAY IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO BRIEF MYSELF ON THE STATUS INFO AREA. I REITERATED THE POINT THAT THE FORM WAS OUT OF VIEW AND THAT SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT SHOULD BE BRIEFED TO THE CTLRS. FLM MR Y DISAGREED AND SAID THAT IS NOT HOW THINGS ARE DONE. IN MY OPINION; THIS OVERSIGHT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN UNSAFE SITUATION.
