Narrative:
We were having a conversation while we were taxiing. Pit ground cleared us to taxi to runway 28R via taxiway T; taxiway B. We taxied onto taxiway V in the direction of runway 28C. We continued on in the direction and ATC contacted us about needing to be on taxiway T and not taxiway V. We proceeded to transition to taxiway T continuing in the wrong direction; and continued our conversation. We both realized at that point that the direction we were heading was leading us to the wrong runway. I prompted pit ground about the confusion and they gave us a 180 degree turn on taxiway T and proceed to taxiway B for runway 28R. This occurred because we became complacent about being familiar with pit and thinking we were taking off runway 28C. When ATC corrected us about our mistake the first time we did not discontinue our conversation; which led us in the wrong direction on the taxiway. Ensure crew agreement and understanding of ATC instructions. Do not carry on personal conversations on the ground under any circumstance.

Title: CRJ200 FLT CREW ENTERED THE INCORRECT TXWY AND TAXIED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. THEY BELIEVED THAT A DIFFERENT RWY HAD BEEN ASSIGNED.
Narrative: WE WERE HAVING A CONVERSATION WHILE WE WERE TAXIING. PIT GND CLRED US TO TAXI TO RWY 28R VIA TXWY T; TXWY B. WE TAXIED ONTO TXWY V IN THE DIRECTION OF RWY 28C. WE CONTINUED ON IN THE DIRECTION AND ATC CONTACTED US ABOUT NEEDING TO BE ON TXWY T AND NOT TXWY V. WE PROCEEDED TO TRANSITION TO TXWY T CONTINUING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION; AND CONTINUED OUR CONVERSATION. WE BOTH REALIZED AT THAT POINT THAT THE DIRECTION WE WERE HEADING WAS LEADING US TO THE WRONG RWY. I PROMPTED PIT GND ABOUT THE CONFUSION AND THEY GAVE US A 180 DEG TURN ON TXWY T AND PROCEED TO TXWY B FOR RWY 28R. THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE WE BECAME COMPLACENT ABOUT BEING FAMILIAR WITH PIT AND THINKING WE WERE TAKING OFF RWY 28C. WHEN ATC CORRECTED US ABOUT OUR MISTAKE THE FIRST TIME WE DID NOT DISCONTINUE OUR CONVERSATION; WHICH LED US IN THE WRONG DIRECTION ON THE TXWY. ENSURE CREW AGREEMENT AND UNDERSTANDING OF ATC INSTRUCTIONS. DO NOT CARRY ON PERSONAL CONVERSATIONS ON THE GND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
