Narrative:
We brought the aircraft in to gate xx at ZZZ. Guide man gave stop signal. I believed the parking brake was set; as did first officer. Shortly thereafter; I noticed the guide man signaling for a stop; and saw aircraft had rolled forward 4-5 ft. I set the parking brake handle and verified pressure on tri-pressure gauge. Spoke to guide man personally and verified that no damage had occurred and no personnel were injured. Aircraft was stopped on the parking line for B757. Consulted flight attendants to verify no passenger were injured. None were. There were 2 jumpseaters in the cockpit who were moving and/or talking as we approached gate; creating some distraction. Discussion was taking place regarding wheels up time for next segment. Believe that long duty day; nighttime conditions; concerns over delays with next leg and jumpseaters' lack of sterile cockpit created distrs.
