Narrative:
While on a left base to final for a visual to runway 21; I shallowed out the turn to visually avoid an area of virga; and as we completed the turn in VMC conditions I realized I was parallel to the final approach to runway 21 at geg; and aligned with fairchild AFB. Both the captain and I agreed a go around was appropriate. We executed the go around in VMC and stayed with the tower controller. We entered right traffic for runway 21 and made a normal visual approach and landing to runway 21 at geg. Both the ATIS and the hourly WX reports had no indication of virga or snow showers which were both present in the area.
