Narrative:
Beginning the GPS 4 approach into ssi; the WX was good over the ocean and we cancelled IFR with jax as we began the approach. As the approach continued; the visual angle to the airport increased and we lost the field. We shot the missed approach and contacted jax on the missed to re-establish our IFR environment. We executed the GPS 4 again and got in no problem this time. We waited to cancel until we were on the ground this time. We made a mistake in canceling the first time obviously.
