Narrative:
During approach; we selected landing gear handle down. Right main gear indication was red. Declared emergency and asked tower to check our right main gear down. Overflew runway. Tower said that it appeared to be down. We ran the manual gear extension checklist and got a 3-GREEN indication. Landed without incident. The handling we received from ATC was outstanding and much appreciated. Consider renaming or adding a checklist for this situation. We ended up choosing the 'correct' checklist using process of elimination and trying to match the 'condition statement' to our situation.
