Narrative:
On arrival to bos I advised first officer that the runway 4R ILS had a NOTAM for a revised missed approach. We got the paperwork out and noted that the missed approach stated in the NOTAM was to climb to 3000 ft and hold; left turns at the lq LOM. I looked for the lq LOM on all of the approach plates and could not find it. I selected it in the navigation database; found the frequency listed in the database and dialed it up. We were unable to get a signal or identify from the lq LOM. We decided to just fly the posted missed and confirm with ATC if we needed to do one. I called dispatch when I got on the ground and they called bos ATC. They were told that the NOTAM should not be in the paperwork and didn't know why it was still listed. Dispatch assured me that it would be removed from the paperwork. 1) why this NOTAM was still listed? 2) do the other NOTAMS for missed approach procedures at bos (there are several of them) use navaids that are no longer in service? 3) why is the lq LOM NAVAID still in our navigation database if it was decommissioned? Remove all decommissioned navaids from the database of aircraft. People that issue NOTAMS need to pay more attention to NOTAM issuance and currency. NOTAM for bos runway 4R stated missed approach procedure had changed. This new procedure utilized a NAVAID that was decommissioned. Lq LOM no longer in service.

Title: AN ACR PILOT NOTES THAT THE BOS ILS RWY 4R MISSED APCH PROC IN THE NOTAMS IS NOT CURRENT; IS MISLEADING AND SHOULD BE REMOVED. FMS AND APCH PLATE ARE CURRENT.
Narrative: ON ARRIVAL TO BOS I ADVISED FO THAT THE RWY 4R ILS HAD A NOTAM FOR A REVISED MISSED APPROACH. I SELECTED IT IN THE NAV DATABASE; FOUND THE FREQUENCY LISTED IN THE DATABASE AND DIALED IT UP. WE WERE UNABLE TO GET A SIGNAL OR IDENT FROM THE LQ LOM. 3) WHY IS THE LQ LOM NAVAID STILL IN OUR NAV DATABASE IF IT WAS DECOMMISSIONED? REMOVE ALL DECOMMISSIONED NAVAIDS FROM THE DATABASE OF AIRCRAFT. PEOPLE THAT ISSUE NOTAMS NEED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO NOTAM ISSUANCE AND CURRENCY. NOTAM FOR BOS RWY 4R STATED MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURE HAD CHANGED. THIS NEW PROCEDURE UTILIZED A NAVAID THAT WAS DECOMMISSIONED. LQ LOM NO LONGER IN SERVICE.
