Narrative:
Captain's seat latching failed. Captain's seat slid back. Rejected takeoff. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the seat moved aft as they taxied out; so the captain readjusted and checked the seat for security. It seemed secure; so the flight proceeded and the takeoff was attempted. When the seat moved aft; the captain transferred control of the aircraft to the first officer for the abort. After the reject; the aircraft returned to the gate; and maintenance cleaned and lubricated the latch mechanism. This apparently fixed the discrepancy; and the flight departed.

Narrative: CAPT'S SEAT LATCHING FAILED. CAPT'S SEAT SLID BACK. REJECTED TKOF. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE REPORTER STATED THAT THE SEAT MOVED AFT AS THEY TAXIED OUT; SO THE CAPT READJUSTED AND CHECKED THE SEAT FOR SECURITY. IT SEEMED SECURE; SO THE FLT PROCEEDED AND THE TKOF WAS ATTEMPTED. WHEN THE SEAT MOVED AFT; THE CAPT TRANSFERRED CONTROL OF THE ACFT TO THE FO FOR THE ABORT. AFTER THE REJECT; THE ACFT RETURNED TO THE GATE; AND MAINT CLEANED AND LUBRICATED THE LATCH MECHANISM. THIS APPARENTLY FIXED THE DISCREPANCY; AND THE FLT DEPARTED.
