Narrative:
While on the cedar creek six arrival (cqy.CQY6) into dfw; we were told to expect runway 35C and were given a late runway change to runway 31R. As the pm was selecting the new approach on the FMC; I noticed that we had passed tacke on the arrival and were approximately 1-2 miles outside the arrival radial. ATC called and we responded by notifying them we we were correcting our course; then we were given a clearance to proceed direct gacho; the if on the approach. There were no TCAS alerts nor were we informed of any deviation to any clearance by ATC.
