Narrative:

After takeoff we got a fuel filter clogged light on our left engine. After talking to our maintenance department; it was determined to return to ZZZ -- a decision I concurred with. I advised maintenance that we were approximately 30000 pounds overweight for landing; and they said that was ok; they would do an overweight landing inspection. I checked our landing distance. I landed with no other issues or problems.
