Narrative:
Received a printed pre-departure clearance via ACARS but at the end it read 'contact clearance for revision.' we called clearance and were given a different SID than the one printed on the pre departure clearance. Later at cruise center asked if we were direct jsica but we were direct oal. He then just cleared us to a fix much farther down our route. Examination of that original pre departure clearance showed routing over jsica but we thought clearance delivery had given us the new SID as filed which was over oal. Should have written down their exact words or clarified it since there was a difference. We had discussed that normally pre departure clearance's don't state there is a revision to this routing as printed although there is often a difference between the pre departure clearance and the filed routing.

Title: TRACK DEV RESULTS FROM CONFUSION OVER REVISED PDC CLRNC.
Narrative: RECEIVED A PRINTED PRE-DEPARTURE CLRNC VIA ACARS BUT AT THE END IT READ 'CONTACT CLRNC FOR REVISION.' WE CALLED CLRNC AND WERE GIVEN A DIFFERENT SID THAN THE ONE PRINTED ON THE PDC. LATER AT CRUISE CENTER ASKED IF WE WERE DIRECT JSICA BUT WE WERE DIRECT OAL. HE THEN JUST CLEARED US TO A FIX MUCH FARTHER DOWN OUR RTE. EXAMINATION OF THAT ORIGINAL PDC SHOWED ROUTING OVER JSICA BUT WE THOUGHT CLRNC DELIVERY HAD GIVEN US THE NEW SID AS FILED WHICH WAS OVER OAL. SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN DOWN THEIR EXACT WORDS OR CLARIFIED IT SINCE THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE. WE HAD DISCUSSED THAT NORMALLY PDC'S DON'T STATE THERE IS A REVISION TO THIS ROUTING AS PRINTED ALTHOUGH THERE IS OFTEN A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PDC AND THE FILED ROUTING.
