Narrative:
I was instructing a developmental on radar at sector 23. ZFW sector had a couple of incidents and shut off traffic from ZAB sectors 97; 98; and 87. Aircraft from these sectors were rerted to the south into sector 23. We received several aircraft from sector 87 that did not have updated rtes or on assigned headings that we were not aware of. I was able to get all of them straightened out; but may have let an aircraft get into ZFW sector 93 without them taking a handoff first. WX was a factor for the rertes; but traffic management; both locally or nationally; did nothing for us except to place flow restrs on us to provide in trail spacing to lax and phx as well as altitude restrs into the dfw terminal area. The specialty was short staffed even though we were to have extra staffing for WX season.
