Narrative:
On takeoff; right generator 'drive' light came on. Leveled off at 5000 ft; told ATC needed some time; turned south. Light went out; checked flight manual -- no other indications. Decided to head to ZZZ2 and talk to maintenance. Upon further climb; light came on again. Disconnected right generator as per flight manual. Talked to dispatch; maintenance about overweight landing. Returned to ZZZ normal landing.

Narrative: ON TKOF; R GENERATOR 'DRIVE' LIGHT CAME ON. LEVELED OFF AT 5000 FT; TOLD ATC NEEDED SOME TIME; TURNED S. LIGHT WENT OUT; CHKED FLT MANUAL -- NO OTHER INDICATIONS. DECIDED TO HEAD TO ZZZ2 AND TALK TO MAINT. UPON FURTHER CLB; LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. DISCONNECTED R GENERATOR AS PER FLT MANUAL. TALKED TO DISPATCH; MAINT ABOUT OVERWT LNDG. RETURNED TO ZZZ NORMAL LNDG.
