Narrative:
I had just completed my run-up in the ramp area well behind the hold short line at a complicated intersection of the ramp area with txwys going in multiple directions. I felt I had more ramp area before the hold short line; but I was wrong. I had misidented the hard surface south of runway 8R as a continuation of the ramp area and moved up before calling tower. As soon as I crossed the hold line I knew what I had done and stopped; contacted tower. Fortunately; I was well clear of the runway but obviously past the proper hold short line. No traffic was on final.

Title: COMM PLT HAS A RWY INCURSION AT PUB; CO.
Narrative: I HAD JUST COMPLETED MY RUN-UP IN THE RAMP AREA WELL BEHIND THE HOLD SHORT LINE AT A COMPLICATED INTXN OF THE RAMP AREA WITH TXWYS GOING IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS. I FELT I HAD MORE RAMP AREA BEFORE THE HOLD SHORT LINE; BUT I WAS WRONG. I HAD MISIDENTED THE HARD SURFACE S OF RWY 8R AS A CONTINUATION OF THE RAMP AREA AND MOVED UP BEFORE CALLING TWR.
