Narrative:

Immediately after takeoff from ZZZ the flight attendants called during sterile cockpit to inform the flight crew of a strong odor (burning rubber smell) in the cabin. Simultaneously; the flight crew smelled the odor. Crew decided to return to ZZZ for a precautionary landing. Odor dissipated in strength after leveling at 3000 ft AGL but the odor was still persistent. We returned in VMC conditions and performed an overweight landing. Possible FOD intake on taxi or takeoff roll.
