Narrative:
Performing a standard rate turn to the left at 100 KTS; a metallic snap was heard. Unable to determine the source of the disturbance we promptly landed the airplane. Upon further inspection; we discovered the left canopy spring broken. The airplane is grounded for maintenance.

Title: DA20 FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR REPORTS CANOPY SPRING FAILURE IN FLIGHT CAUSING CONCERN AND IMMEDIATE LANDING TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF SOUND.
Narrative: PERFORMING A STANDARD RATE TURN TO THE L AT 100 KTS; A METALLIC SNAP WAS HEARD. UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE DISTURBANCE WE PROMPTLY LANDED THE AIRPLANE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION; WE DISCOVERED THE L CANOPY SPRING BROKEN. THE AIRPLANE IS GNDED FOR MAINT.
