Narrative:
Once again gate agent did not inform us of fam's (federal air marshals) on board. Only found out because the 1 marshal mentioned something to our jumpseater as she was boarding who mentioned it after departure. Flight attendants were unaware. This new program of the air marshals doesn't work in my opinion. Gate agents are very overworked and usually do not report pcfa's (passenger carrying fire arm) on board.

Title: AN ACR CAPT REPORTS THAT PAX SVC AGENTS DID NOT INFORM HIM ABOUT FEDERAL AIR MARSHALS (FAM'S) BEING ON BOARD.
Narrative: ONCE AGAIN GATE AGENT DID NOT INFORM US OF FAM'S (FEDERAL AIR MARSHALS) ON BOARD. ONLY FOUND OUT BECAUSE THE 1 MARSHAL MENTIONED SOMETHING TO OUR JUMPSEATER AS SHE WAS BOARDING WHO MENTIONED IT AFTER DEP. FLT ATTENDANTS WERE UNAWARE. THIS NEW PROGRAM OF THE AIR MARSHALS DOESN'T WORK IN MY OPINION. GATE AGENTS ARE VERY OVERWORKED AND USUALLY DO NOT RPT PCFA'S (PAX CARRYING FIRE ARM) ON BOARD.
