Narrative:
A hydraulic line evidently broke during departure. This was only ascertained after landing. Immediately during climb out; attempts to raise the gear were unsuccessful causing gear and hydraulic pump warning annunciator lights. After many attempts to rectify the situation it became apparent that a landing had to occur fully expecting a nose gear collapse. The indicators showed the main landing gear down and locked but not the nose gear. A nose-up landing did occur with damage to the aircraft. The purpose of this report is not to discuss the above; but to disclose that I now realize this flight occurred after expiration of the annual for the airplane. I offer no excuses; but ask myself how I allowed this to happen.

Title: SUBSEQUENT TO THE EXPIRATION OF ITS ANNUAL MAINT CERTIFICATION; PA46 SUFFERS COLLAPSE OF NOSE GEAR ON LANDING FOLLOWING A HYDRAULIC FAILURE.
Narrative: A HYD LINE EVIDENTLY BROKE DURING DEP. THIS WAS ONLY ASCERTAINED AFTER LNDG. IMMEDIATELY DURING CLBOUT; ATTEMPTS TO RAISE THE GEAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL CAUSING GEAR AND HYD PUMP WARNING ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION IT BECAME APPARENT THAT A LNDG HAD TO OCCUR FULLY EXPECTING A NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE. THE INDICATORS SHOWED THE MAIN LNDG GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED BUT NOT THE NOSE GEAR. A NOSE-UP LNDG DID OCCUR WITH DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. THE PURPOSE OF THIS RPT IS NOT TO DISCUSS THE ABOVE; BUT TO DISCLOSE THAT I NOW REALIZE THIS FLT OCCURRED AFTER EXPIRATION OF THE ANNUAL FOR THE AIRPLANE. I OFFER NO EXCUSES; BUT ASK MYSELF HOW I ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN.
