Narrative:

My crew and I refused this aircraft 2 days earlier due to #1 adp inoperative. Aircraft was routed sfo-ZZZZ1 instead. Upon our arrival in ZZZ2 operations to flight plan abc ZZZ2-sfo was our aircraft with the #1 adp still deferred inoperative by maintenance. Again; we refused the aircraft. As maintenance was now forced to address the issue; it was determined that #1 adp was improperly deferred and that it was in fact functional in all but the 'automatic' mode and could be dispatched using the 'on' position for takeoff; departure; approach; and landing. We agreed to accept the aircraft and departed approximately 2 hours late.
