Narrative:

After gate arrival in ZZZ the rear left slide was deployed inadvertently. In the cockpit during the after shutdown flow I observed both the door armed and the door open indications on ECAM. At this point I confirmed with the flight attendant working in the aft that the slide did deploy. Company and maintenance were informed; passenger were deplaned normally. Problem #2 the slide did not deploy properly; it was unusable after deployment for evacuate/evacuation. Verbal report from maintenance personnel indicated the slide was only attached to aircraft by the electric wires.
