Narrative:
During pre-departure walkaround inspection; disturbing writing found in r-hand main wheelwell stating 'joshkill' with a slash symbol beneath. Writing appeared to be fresh and in black marker. Aircraft had been on ground approximately 2 hours. This was to be first flight of aircraft after a crew change. Dispatch; ground security coordinator; and airline ground security supervisor were contacted. Ground security coordinator and ground security supervisor both expressed concern as to the meaning behind the writing. It was decided that a thorough sweep of the aircraft including inspecting of baggage and cargo compartments should be performed prior to continuing this flight. A conference call which included dispatch; airline bridge; aircraft captain and chief pilot was initiated. The decision was made to swap aircraft.
