Narrative:
We were on a radar vector to phoenix - williams gateway airport (iwa) and talking to phx approach control. Phx approach cleared us to 6000 ft and gave us a heading. That heading and altitude took us through one of local GA practice areas. We saw traffic on TCAS and controller gave us a vector to the right. As we were rolling out on our assigned heading; we picked up another target and ATC also called traffic at 12 O'clock position. That traffic set off an RA for us. In obeying the RA; we descended to 5100 ft and turned 90 degrees to the left from our originally assigned heading to avoid the terrain ahead. Upon conflict resolution; we climbed back up to 6000 ft and got another vector to iwa. ATC should not vector transport category traffic through busy GA practice areas.

Title: ACR AT 6000 FT ON VECTORS TO IWA; WITH P50 TRACON; EXPERIENCED TCAS RA WITH GA ACFT; REPORTER SUGGESTING ATC LIMIT VECTORS THROUGH GA AREAS.
Narrative: WE WERE ON A RADAR VECTOR TO PHOENIX - WILLIAMS GATEWAY ARPT (IWA) AND TALKING TO PHX APCH CTL. PHX APCH CLRED US TO 6000 FT AND GAVE US A HDG. THAT HDG AND ALT TOOK US THROUGH ONE OF LCL GA PRACTICE AREAS. WE SAW TFC ON TCAS AND CTLR GAVE US A VECTOR TO THE R. AS WE WERE ROLLING OUT ON OUR ASSIGNED HDG; WE PICKED UP ANOTHER TARGET AND ATC ALSO CALLED TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK POS. THAT TFC SET OFF AN RA FOR US. IN OBEYING THE RA; WE DSNDED TO 5100 FT AND TURNED 90 DEGS TO THE L FROM OUR ORIGINALLY ASSIGNED HDG TO AVOID THE TERRAIN AHEAD. UPON CONFLICT RESOLUTION; WE CLBED BACK UP TO 6000 FT AND GOT ANOTHER VECTOR TO IWA. ATC SHOULD NOT VECTOR TRANSPORT CATEGORY TFC THROUGH BUSY GA PRACTICE AREAS.
