Narrative:

A BE20; a wbound flight; departed runway 17L on a 150 degree heading and; then shortly thereafter; CRJ7; an eastbound flight; departed runway 17R on a 170 degree heading. The BE20 was shipped to the west radar controller and may or may not have turned the BE20 to the west prior to the CRJ7 appearing on radar. I was never contacted by the tower controller concerning this situation and used a continued climb of the CRJ7 to pry these aircraft apart prior to turning the CRJ7 on course to the east. My hands were tied and not many options but to just keep them apart since I was only talking to the jet traffic. Lack of experience from new trainees being checked out at this facility is a contributory factor. If this facility would allow these new hires to actually work some traffic in the tower for a while prior to sending them to radar class; maybe they could gain some much needed experience to prevent events like this from occurring and maybe even be able to help resolve these mistakes when they occur rather than relying on the cpc's of this facility to fix all their mistakes.

Title: AUS APCH CTLR DESCRIBED POSSIBLE OPERROR WHEN TFC OFF PARALLEL RWYS CONFLICTED; CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN.

Narrative: A BE20; A WBOUND FLT; DEPARTED RWY 17L ON A 150 DEG HDG AND; THEN SHORTLY THEREAFTER; CRJ7; AN EBOUND FLT; DEPARTED RWY 17R ON A 170 DEG HDG. THE BE20 WAS SHIPPED TO THE W RADAR CTLR AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE TURNED THE BE20 TO THE W PRIOR TO THE CRJ7 APPEARING ON RADAR. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY THE TWR CTLR CONCERNING THIS SITUATION AND USED A CONTINUED CLB OF THE CRJ7 TO PRY THESE ACFT APART PRIOR TO TURNING THE CRJ7 ON COURSE TO THE E. MY HANDS WERE TIED AND NOT MANY OPTIONS BUT TO JUST KEEP THEM APART SINCE I WAS ONLY TALKING TO THE JET TFC. LACK OF EXPERIENCE FROM NEW TRAINEES BEING CHKED OUT AT THIS FACILITY IS A CONTRIBUTORY FACTOR. IF THIS FACILITY WOULD ALLOW THESE NEW HIRES TO ACTUALLY WORK SOME TFC IN THE TWR FOR A WHILE PRIOR TO SENDING THEM TO RADAR CLASS; MAYBE THEY COULD GAIN SOME MUCH NEEDED EXPERIENCE TO PREVENT EVENTS LIKE THIS FROM OCCURRING AND MAYBE EVEN BE ABLE TO HELP RESOLVE THESE MISTAKES WHEN THEY OCCUR RATHER THAN RELYING ON THE CPC'S OF THIS FACILITY TO FIX ALL THEIR MISTAKES.
