Returned to gate due to a #1; left engine hot start; 485 degrees. This engine has been written up numerous times before in the last 30 days. Felt pressured to accept the aircraft given the recent call by the chief pilot on duty from the previous leg for not using the dgs.

Title: MD80 CAPT RETURNS TO GATE AFTER A HOT START ON AN ENGINE WRITTEN UP 'NUMEROUS TIMES' IN THE LAST THIRTY DAYS. CAPT FELT PRESSURED TO ACCEPT THE ACFT DUE TO A COUNSELING CALL FROM HIS CHIEF PLT THE PREVIOUS DAY REGARDING A REQUEST FOR A PARKING GUIDE MAN.
