Narrative:
Strong smell of burning electrical matter on flight deck. We had to divert back to ZZZ2. Followed checklist to divert off north atlantic track. Declared emergency. Advised other aircraft. Advised ATC. Advised company operations. Only suggestion I would make is to have step in diverting off north atlantic track system checklist to declare emergency because that covers all situations and contingencies that will arise.
